Day 1: Arrival in Wismar
Travellers are responsible for their transportation to Wismar. The old Hanseatic city is one of Mecklenburg-Pommerania's most beautiful cities. The magnificent architecture depicts the splendour and strength of the once mighty Hanseatic League. Spend the night in the 4* Hotel Hamburg (or comparable).
Day 2: Wismar – Kühlungsborn – Bad Doberan - Warnemünde
Distance: approx 56 km / 35 mi
Cycle inland through beautiful landscape, past the Island of Poel and the Salz Lagoon, to Rerik. Continue along the coastline to Kühlungsborn. In the afternoon take the train called “Molli” to Bad Doberan and visit the minster there. End today’s tour in Warnemünde and spend the night in the 4* hotel, Warnemünder Hof (or comparable).
Day 3: Warnemünde – Fischland
Distance: approx 35 km / 22 mi
Today’s leg of the tour takes you through the Rostock Heath to Graal-Müritz, the “Gate to Fischland”. The sandy beaches stretch for miles and the peninsula is bordered by the body of water called the “Bodden”. Spend the night on the Fischland Peninsula in the 3*+ hotel, Ostseehotel Dierhagen.
Day 4: Fischland/Darss
Distance: approx 30 km / 19 mi
Enjoy today’s circuit tour on the peninsula and the boat ride. Cycle to Dierhagen, Wustrow, Ahrenshoop, or Wieck. The former artist colony of Ahrenshoop has developed into a quite swank town. Accommodations same as Day 3.
Day 5: Fischland/Darss – Zingst – Barth
Distance: approx 35-50 km / 22-31 mi
The bicycle trail along the Bodden takes you to Born, Wieck, and Prerow. Visit the natural science museum, Darsser Arche. Continue through meadows and on dams to Zingst. There are important bird migration stations for cranes and grey geese between Zingst and Barth. In the afternoon, cross the Meinigen Bridge to Barth.
Day 6: Barth – Stralsund
Distance: approx 46-60 km / 29-37 mi
Today's stretch is beautiful as it leads you along the Barth Bay, through fields and meadows and small coastal forests to the sound, Strelasund, and the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The tall church towers of St. Marien, St. Jacobe, and St. Nikolai are visible from the distance. The UNESCO World Heritage City has many points of interest. Spend the night at the 4* Arcona Hotel Baltic.
Day 7: Departure from Stralsund
Depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their homewad transportation.
