Day 1: Berlin / Oranienburg
Travellers are responsible for their own transportation to Oranienburg. Take the S-Bahn, the commuter train, from Downtown Berlin directly to Oranienburg and spend the night there.
Day 2: Oranienburg – Neuglobsow / Fürstenberg
Distance: approx 70 km / 43 mi
Your first venture begins along the Oder-Havel-Canal on your way to Liebenwalde. Interestingly enough, the museum there is located in the former jail. Continue along the Havel to Zehdenick and spend the night in Neuglobsow or Fürstenberg.
Day 3: Neuglobsow / Fürstenberg – Neustrelitz
Distance: approx 60-70 km / 37-43 mi
Cycle past Lake Stechlin on your way to Fürstenberg. The lake is steeped in legend and was immortalised by the late author Theodore Fontane. Stay overnight in Neustrelitz.
Day 4: Neustrelitz – Neubrandenburg
Distance: approx 35 km / 22 mi
Before continuing to today’s destination, you may want to visit the church tower in Neustrelitz, the castle in Hohenzieritz, and the hunting chateau in Prillwitz. Spend the night in Neubrandenburg.
Day 5: Neubrandenburg – Ueckermünde
Distance: approx 35-72 km / 22-44 mi
Take the train to Strasburg. Cycle through the vast meadows called ‘Friedländer Wiese’, and through the Ueckermünde Heath to Stettin Lagoon. Approaching Ueckermünde, you will see the church tower and castle. Stay overnight in the quaint little town of Ueckermünde.
Day 6: Ueckermünde – Usedom
Distance: approx 50 km / 31 mi
Ueckermünde is surrounded by almost 260 m² / .06 acres of nature reserve. Cycle through the reserve to Grambin. Continue along Stettin Lagoon in the direction of Anklam. Cross the Peene River onto the island of Usedom. Spend the night in the town of Usedom or stay on the mainland and spend the night in Aklam / Bömitz.
Day 7: Usedom – Sea Side Resort Towns of Ahlbeck / Heringsdorf / Bansin
Distance: approx 30 km / 19 mi
Today’s leg of the tour takes you from the historic town of Usedom through the south of the island. Enjoy the different landscapes, including marsh land, on your way to Dargen and the beaches of the Baltic Sea resort towns. Stay overnight in one of the resort towns.
Day 8: Departure from Sea Side Resort Towns / Heringsdorf
Depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their homeward transportation. If you want to return home from Berlin, you must take a train from the island of Usedom to Berlin. Fare not included in tour price.
