This tour has four stages and takes you from the fjord to the Hohwachter Bay, to Heiligenhafen, Neustadt, and along the Lübeck Bay to Lübeck.

Day 1: Arrival in Kiel

Arrive in Kiel and spend the night there.


Day 2: Kiel – Lütjenburg & Surroundings
Distance: approx 58-68 km / 36-42 mi

Take the ferry from Kiel to Laboe (fare payable on-site). Don’t miss out on visiting the prominent naval cenotaph and submarine. Continue on past Laboe’s lively beach and harbour to Stein. Be captivated by the beautiful resort towns, vast beaches and stately manor houses in the back country. Spend the night in Lütjenburg or Hohwacht.


Day 3: Hohwacht Bay – Heiligenhafen
Distance: approx 40-46 km / 25-29 mi

Today, you will leave the breath-taking scenery around Hohwacht Bay behind and cycle past Weissenhäuser Beach to Oldenburg. Arrive in Heiligenhafen which is near the island of Fehmarn.


Day 4: Heiligenhafen – Neustadt in Holstein
Distance: approx 40-52 km / 25-32 mi

It’s not far to Lübeck Bay. Continue on past Dahme and Kellenhausen to Grömitz. Grömitz is one of the oldest and largest resort towns in the Baltic region. Cycle south to the little Holstein city of Neustadt and spend the night there or in Pelzerhaken.


Day 5: Neustadt – Lübeck
Distance: approx 62 km / 39 mi

Cycle mostly along the beaches and promenades of Haffkrug, Scharbeutz, and Timmendorf on your way to Travemünde. Care for a swim? There are also many cafés, restaurants, boutiques and shops to lose sense of time in. Spend the night in Lübeck.


Day 6: Departure from Lübeck

Turn your rental bikes in and depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their own transportation home.
