About the Region
The Werra River originates near the ridge walk, Der Rennsteig, and flows between Rhön and Thuringia Forest. There are picturesque timber-framed houses, spa towns, former royal cities, and famous cultural cities such as Eisenach (with its Wartburg Castle and Johann Sebastian Bach's birth house) on your way to the "Three-River-City" of Hann. Münden.
