Berlin-Usedom Cycle Route

Der Radweg führt Sie von Berlin nach Usedom
The cycle route runs from Berlin to Usedom

The Berlin-Usedom Cycle Route is approx. 337 km / 209 mi long. It starts in Berlin and runs through Eberswalde, Angermünde, Prenzlau, Ueckermünde, Anklam, and after crossing the Peene, the city of Usedom. Continue along the Baltic Sea Cycle Route to the former imperial baths of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, Bansin, Zinnowitz, Karlshaben, and Peenemünde in the North.

The landscape is quite flat and gets somewhat hilly in the North. There is only a 58 m / 190 ft difference in elevation, and the paths are easily cycled. Some trails are off-road trails through forests and fields.

Discover the Surroundings

You could spend a lot of time in Berlin visiting the museums, the parliamentary buildings, cycling on the Berlin Wall Cycle Route, etc. There are so many sights along the way such as the churches in the villages and the architecture along the Berlin-Usedom Cycle Route, the gate, tower, and museum in Bernau, the city wall in Prenzlau, and the historic Old Towns of Angermünde, Ueckermünde, and the historico-cultural museum in Pasewalk. The view from the 27 m / 89 ft high castle tower in Ueckermünde across the Old Town, the harbour, the Szczecin Lagoon, and over to Usedom is fantastic.

You may want to bring a little extra time with you if you plan on visiting the Spree Forest below Berlin or the cheese factory in Bandelow, Brandenburg. We recommend visiting the medieval open-air museum in Torgelow, Pomerania. You can plan the tour to your liking – whether visiting all the sights (for which you will need more time) or fulfilling your sportive ambition in only a few days.

Fascinating Landscapes

If you are a nature lover, then the Berlin-Usedom Cycle Route may be the perfect one for you. It runs through vast untouched nature, just 60 km / 37 mi outside of Berlin through the biosphere reserve “Schorfheide-Chorin” in Brandenburg, formed during the Ice Age into a landscape of many lakes, forests, and moors. Mecklenburg-Pomerania offers the Mecklenburg Lake District and the nature reserve "Unteres Peenetal" with nearby reserve "Stettiner Haff" on the Baltic Sea coast.
