Day 1: Arrival in Marburg
Travellers are responsible for their own transportation to Marburg. Plan enough time for visiting the historic Old Town and Elisabeth Church. (You may want to take the Deutsche Bahn railway into Marburg; Hotel Parking; Bicycles booked in advance will be waiting for you at your hotel.) Spend the night in Marburg.
Day 2: Marburg - Wetzlar
Distance: approx. 54 km
Cycle through the vast Lahn Valley, passing idyllic bathing meres until you reach Wetzlar. During an afternoon stroll explore Wetzlar Old Town and visit the interesting cathedral. Stay overnight in Wetzlar.
Day 3: Wetzlar - Weilburg
Distance: approx. 32/40 km
Today, you will cross a stone bridge on your way to the Grube Fortuna, Germany’s only iron mine where visitors are shown the original mining technique. The landscape on your way to Weilburg is unforgettably impressive, giving you a great view of the Renaissance castle seated on a cliff above the Lahn. Spend the night in Weilburg.
Day 4: Weilburg - Limburg
Distance: approx. 40 km
The river course curls between Taunus and Westerwald. Cycle on the paved towpath through Aumenau and Runkel to Limburg with its famous cathedral. Spend the night.
Day 5: Limburg - Bad Ems
Distance: approx. 36/47 km
Enjoy a scenic highlight today as you cycle in the tranquil, unspoiled valley on your way from Diez to Balduinstein. If you would like to skip the inclines on this leg, you can take a comfortable train ride (11 km/7 miles). Rest at Arnstein Abbey, at Nassau Castle, or in the historic inn, Wirtshaus an der Lahn, before cycling to Bad Ems, where you will spend the night.
Day 6: Bad Ems - Braubach
Distance: approx. 17/46 km
After cycling 12 km/7 miles you will enter the gorgeous Rhine Valley. Crown your tour with a side trip through Boppard and St. Goar to the Loreley. Return to the wine town, Braubach, by boat. Stay overnight.
Day 7: Departure from Braubach
Departure after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their own transportation home. We recommend that you book our return transfer service to Marburg. (Departure 9:00 AM; duration: approx. 2 hrs.)
